I'm a working class American who understands what it's like living paycheck to paycheck. Too many politicians are disconnected from the realities of everyday Americans that are barely getting by.
We need real representation. I've flipped burgers, answered the phones at call centers, stocked shelves at the grocery store, and cold called folks trying to sell them insurance (I know, I'm sorry). I'm not just another suit spit out by the establishment machine looking for a promotion.
As a former member of the UFCW and OPEIU, I understand the importance of labor and solidarity. I also understand that the American working class is getting screwed while the rich get richer and the politicians on their payroll continue to peddle excuses for why they can't make our lives any better.
In my 32 years of living, I haven't felt more left behind by the Democratic Party than I do today. The party's abysmal approval rating of 26% (half of half!) tells me that I'm not the only one who feels this way. And we're right to feel this way! The Democratic Party needs to step up and really earn our vote.
